This ring was my mom's. She gave it to me years ago and I have cherished it ever since. Each stone represents me and 3 of my sisters. I use to wear it every day and found comfort in it around my finger. It made me feel a bit closer to my family. I still wear it, but like most jewelry I own, only on special occasions. Whenever I wear it I am reminded of the love I have for my mom and sisters, and how much I miss them. I love this ring...and really should wear it more.

I really wanted to go to the gardens for Mother's Day but the rain but a damper on our plans. So instead we went to a few local farms and picked out some flowers for me to plant during the week, once the weather cleared. We picked out so many pretty flowers to plant in our pots and then we spotted this beautiful hanging basket. The first thing we noticed was the blue flowers and how perfectly they would look next to our blue house! I used my Helios for this image...it is such a cool little lens that with the right background can give amazing bokeh!

This week we focused on closed down. Truth be told this is not my favorite way to shoot and actually I rarely do....but in one special circumstance I can't resist!! Rays....Flare....Burst!!! Whatever you want to call it, when the sun is in the perfect spot, the best way to get it in a picture is when you close down! In my opinion shooting at a 13-16 f stop will give you beautiful sun bursts. The lens you use does make a difference, some lenses pick up the light better then others and you have to do some wiggling around to find the right spot for the shot. The image I am sharing today was shot at f16 and I had to be off to the side a bit and do quite a bit of moving to get the light right where I wanted it!
